Tax freeze 'good news' for villa holidays
The freezing of Air Passenger Duty (APD) announced as part of yesterday's (March 23rd) Budget is "good news" for villa holidays, it has been claimed.According to the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), travellers will pay £145 million less than they would have if APD had increased as planned.Brits booking villa holidays in Spain or golf holidays in Portugal will save money on flights for the next financial year as a result of the freeze.Mark Tanzer steve parry golf school, ABTA chief executive says he is glad the chancellor of the exchequer "saw sense",however price rises could still be in store in 2012.ABTA's Fair Tax on Flying campaign now seeks to address the tax applicable to different air fares, with economy, business and first class fares currently charged the same APD.Prior to the Budget announcement, airlines including Virgin Atlantic and Thomson Airways jointed ABTA in appealing to abolish passenger taxes altogether.Posted by Jane Ogilvy Full Golf Swing for Beginners.
